  • Overview

    The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated Contracts professionals who (a) collectively manage the hundreds of millions of dollars which comprise Black Box's federal awards, (b) own the direct-touch relationships with our Government contracting counterparts, (c) partner with Operations to oversee cradle-to-grave negotiation and execution of subcontracts thereunder, and (d) leverage this experience to provide insight and analysis to the Sales organization for new business pursuits.



    •  Is professional in all situations, but possesses an ability to speak truth to power, enabled by a confidence in one’s knowledge, research, and experience, with the ultimate objective of being a consensus builder. 
    •  The Contracts team uniquely sits at the intersection of Sales, Operations, and Finance and is called upon constantly to perceive and balance the business’s priorities at any given time, and assist with navigating process to get things done.  To this end, the Senior Contracts Specialist must be an exceptional communicator who keeps our “internal customers” also in mind.
    •   The role will include a sure need for effectively writing/redlining actual contract documents (nondisclosure, teaming, consultant, reseller, subcontract), but of equal importance and interest is efficiency in one’s emails.  A motivated candidate might produce or describe 3 emails that demonstrate how they effectively moved a business objective forward – where they succinctly converted competitive business strategy into a negotiation position in a redlined contract or an email to an outside party.  Note: Black Box does not expect to receive, and will not accept, any proprietary information.
    •  The Senior Contracts Specialist should not have “attention to detail,” but a PASSION for details.  An ability to be consistent, accurate, and nevertheless adaptive will be hallmarks of a successful candidate.



    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 
    • CFCM a plus. 
    • Must be a subject matter expert (SME) in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFAR, DEAR a plus. 
    • Should have experience with FFP, CPFF, T&M, CR contract types. 
    • Must be completely proficient with Microsoft Office suite and be savvy with databases and online portals of all kinds. 
    • Construction contracting experience a notable plus.
    • Typically no more than 10% travel required.
    •   Should already possess or be able to gain a U.S. Security Clearance.
