The Government Solutions Division of Black Box Network Services is an information systems integrator that designs, implements and maintains telecommunications and data solutions for Federal customers worldwide.
Black Box is seeking a qualified Wireless LAN System Administrator to provide onsite full-time support to the US Marine Corp Enterprise Network (MCEN) Wireless Local Area Network at Camp Pendleton in California. Occasional travel to other Marine Corps bases CONUS and OCONUS may be required.
The Level 2 MCEN-N WLAN System Administrator is responsible for the initial implementation and day-to-day management and sustainment of the MCEN-N WLAN Master Controllers (Aruba) access switches, backup controllers, and management platforms that will support the centralized management and operation of the MCEN-N WLAN enterprise system.
Under general supervision, the WLAN System Administrator leads a team of network operations specialists in performing the day-to-day activities of the Camp Pendleton Network Operations Center (NOC) and the Marine Information Technology (IT) Support Center (MITC) West Pendleton, to include all Cyber Security activities. The WLAN System Administrator ensures effective and efficient operation of network systems, architecture and topology. S/he supports the deployment and oversight of network operations specialists ensuring that all operating systems are adequate, functional, and conform to operation security policies and procedures. The WLAN System Administrator assists with the development and application of business processes to ensure appropriate service levels. S/he develops and implements standards, procedures, and processes for the NOC, and participates in strategic network planning initiatives, steady state operations planning sessions, and contingency operation planning and development working groups.
The MCEN-N WLAN System Administrator will support the MCEN-N WLAN implementation to include integration of the local controller and Wireless Access Points (WAP) to the MCEN-N WLAN architecture. Ongoing sustainment responsibilities include configuration changes and updates, support to change management processes, Tier 1 and 2 (Level 2) system troubleshooting in support of Camp Pendleton systems, mitigation of cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and other subject matter expertise support as required.

Candidates must meet criteria to pass a background check, must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the DoD Secret level, must have a valid United States (US) driver’s license, and must have the ability to obtain a valid passport. Prior experience with Aruba ClearPass and Airwave is strongly preferred.
