    Purpose of the Job
    Oversees management of product information function. Responsible for defining and managing product data standards and implementation of ongoing efforts for one source of data for product marketing content and technical specifications. Manages taxonomy on website, as well as data feeds to channel partners. This position will work to continually improve data content and structure, as well as create and improve processes for the team and PIM system. Position will also need to work across multiple departments, including but not limited to Product Managers, IT, Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing. Responsible for quality and consistency of brand. Makes recommendations for updates and helps to oversee processes and improvements, as needed.

     

    Responsibilities

    Primary Roles & Responsibilitie

    • Develops and oversees data collection and creation process, as well as data change process
    • Creates and oversees workflows within PIM system
    • Develops and oversees Product Information Management (PIM) and Data Feed Management Systems (DFMS)
    • Identifies areas of improvement and leads team to enhance product content alongside other team members from, but not limited to, marketing, engineering, product management, and tech support
    • Manages product content and mapping data feeds to channel partners, ensuring product content is accurate
    • Maintains and optimizes Blackbox.com website taxonomy collaborating with product management team and SEO specialist
    • Establishes processes, policies, and standards that govern product data – pertaining to creation, integration, storage, quality assurance and policies
    • Trains team members on PIM/DFMS systems and assigns roles within system, based on requirements
    • Ensures overall product imagery is consistent and on-brand
    • Works alongside IT team members to define, improve, and implement data architecture
    • Collaborates and strategizes with product experts, product support teams, content creators, internal, and external partners to set data priorities and maintenance
    • Inputs/manages product information in the PIM and maintains existing product information, including any translations for selected languages
    • Oversees international expansion of the PIM and communications with key stakeholders across the globe

     

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    • Understanding of web technologies, SEO and product information principles
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team to define product data needs and implement
    • Ability to manage multiple projects to meet team expectations and timelines
    • Strong organizational and communication skills required
    • Prior experience working with product channel solutions a plus (Channel Online, CNET, others)
    • Ability to manage and organize large amounts of data
    • High attention to detail
    • Microsoft Excel proficiency

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience Requirements

    • 7-10+ years professional experience in a marketing, data management, and/or related field
    • Experience working with product information systems
    • Demonstrated success in leading the implementation of a PIM system
    • Experience with a PLM, ERP, or CRM platform. Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus.
    • Ability to define data standards and achieve cross-functional buy-in on those data standards
    • Ability to translate the value of quality data into business results
    • Ability to create enriched product content, as well as standards for others in the organization pertaining to content and data quality
    • Ability to ensure data integrity across numerous product types and attributes for each
    • Proven success gathering large sets of missing data
    • Prior experience working with a creative team to acquire digital assets (photos, videos, user manuals, other resources)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related industry experience preferred
    • English language proficiency, both written and verbal, is essential – other language skills preferred but not mandatory

    Supervisory Responsibility

    • Acts as working supervisor for Product Information Specialist(s)
