    We are offering an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Human Resources (HR) Specialist, Employee Services in Herndon, VA.  The Black Box Senior HR Specialist, Employee Services, will be responsible for providing exceptional support and customer service to employees and managers as needed in such areas as benefits, payroll, leave administration, recruiting and other general HR support.  We want to ensure that every employee has a positive experience working with HR!

    Responsibilities

    Primarily Roles & Responsibilities

    • Maintain electronic HR records, ensuring the data and documents pertaining to employees and organizational structure are accurate and up-to-date.
    • Assist employees with any questions and needs regarding company policies, benefits, payroll, performance management, and training.
    • Prepare and respond to employment verifications.
    • Administer disability, FMLA and parental leave plans.
    • Act as point of contact for benefit enrollment (new hires and open enrollment).
    • Interface directly with insurance carriers and broker to research and resolve benefit eligibility and enrollment issues.
    • Assist in compensation/merit review planning.
    • Assign and track completion status of training and performance appraisals.
    • Analyze, prepare, input and process payroll data for approximately 350 employees.
    • Process individual employee salary/rate adjustments or other changes affecting employee payroll status, including new hires, transfers, layoffs, terminations, garnishments, paid and unpaid leaves.
    • Responsible for ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all payroll and personnel information, files, data—includes both written and oral forms of information.
    • Consult with hiring managers to activate and post requisitions that accurately reflect the duties, responsibilities, education, training, certifications, experience and security clearances required for the positions.
    • Interview, screen and evaluate external and internal candidates for job openings to identify applicants who fully meet the position requirements of the posted requisitions and refer them to the hiring manager for consideration.
    • Adhere to all relevant tracking and compliance requirements utilizing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
    • Research, coordinate and participate in job fairs.
    • Administer the onboarding process including pre-employment screening, background investigation, benefit plan overview, payroll documents and offer letter and policy distribution.
    • Create and provide ad hoc reports for managers.

    Qualifications

     

    Qualifications (Education/Experience)

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration/Management or related field and 5+ years of combined experience within Human Resources and Payroll.
    • 2+ years hands-on payroll experience with multi-state required, including Time and Attendance management.
    • Knowledge of Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon Act required.
    • Experience working with Expats a plus.
    • Experience in building, cultivating and sustaining networks of qualified, passive candidates and creating mechanisms to effectively manage a candidate pool.
    • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
    • HR, Payroll (ADP preferred) and recruiting experience with a government contractor required.
