  • Overview

    Need a dependable Voice/Data Technician for a Client Site.

    • Position entails responding to service tickets for data/voice. 
    • Completing troubleshooting, MAC, or FDO/LDO service requests.

    Please note that this is a Contract to Hire opportunity. 

    Standard hours are either 7am-3:30pm or 8am-5pm.  Potential for overtime.

    Responsibilities

    • Reports to site dispatcher each day to pick up service tickets
    • Prioritize incident tickets as they come in
    • Updates ticket status in Service Now system on daily basis
    • perform high quality MAC work, FDO/LDO service requests
    • troubleshoot VoIP or Lync softphone issues
    • provide network activations, patching, phone programming, and/or installation of fiber patch cords for fiber uplinks and some hardware installations as required. High degree of customer interaction required

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience terminating CAT5/CAT5E/CAT6/CAT6A copper cabling, RG-6 and/or RG-11 coaxial cabling
    • Fiber optic terminations skills are a plus
    • Must possess basic knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems
    • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology is also required.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Possess extreme attention to detail and be safety conscience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Outstanding problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to work independently and manage one’s own time.
    • High School Diploma or GED at a minimum.
