    Tyto Athene is seeking a qualified Systems Engineer III with extensive experience supporting IT Managed Services programs for Federal Government Agencies, including, but not limited to the Department of Defense and/or Department of Energy.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    The Engineer/Scientist III (Systems Engineer III) is responsible for providing technical expertise supporting a wide range of Telephony and Unified Capabilities (UC) systems (herein known as Telephony UC Systems). Telephony UC systems support will include UC voice and video systems, video teleconferencing (VTC), voice over internet protocol (VoIP), voice over secure internet protocol (VoSIP), video teleconferencing over internet protocol (VTCoIP), video conferencing over secure internet protocol (VTCoSIP), telephony management, messaging and ancillary systems, as well as future systems being developed in multiple environments. These environments include standalone, distributed, regional, enterprise and in multiple enclaves to include unclassified, secret, coalition, and NATO. The System Engineer shall demonstrate knowledge and experience with UC local session controllers (LSC), routers, switches, gateways, Edge Boundary Controllers (EBCs), computers and servers. Tasks include:

    • Defining all aspects of technical efforts, such as scope, objectives, constraints, reviews, audits and risks
    • Preparing/updating planning documentation to include capability needs, concept of operations, and interfaces/interdependencies
    • Develop/review bill of material
    • Provide inputs to technical documentation to include installation design plan/project drawings, type/site accreditations, cybersecurity plans, test plans, cutover plans, standard operating procedures, configuration management documents, and logistics documents
    • Provide customer support for technical reviews and audits
    • Provide inputs to the Base Electronic System Engineer Plan
    • Provide support for pre-installation test and checkout of systems and associated components
    • Provide support for pre-production testing of systems and associated components
    • Perform Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 Cybersecurity functions of 25 IA primary duty hours or more per week

    Qualifications

    Experience / Qualifications:

    • Six (6) years of experience in Network Communications, Unified Capabilities hardware and software, Naval Telephony Voice and Video systems, or Information Technology, to include Systems/Equipment Support and Test and Evaluation support of C4ISR requirements
    • One (1) year of hands-on technical experience with Local Session Controllers (LSC), Telephony Unified Messaging, UC Communication Managers, Video and Voice over Internet Protocol (V/VoIP), or Video Teleconferencing over Internet Protocol (VTCoIP) to include familiarity with the following:
      • Avaya Communication Managers (CM4, CM6, and CM7)
      • Cisco Unified Call Manager
      • Cisco Telepresence, boundary routers, and switches
      • Virtual server infrastructure running Microsoft Window Server, Microsoft SQL, Host Based Security System (HBSS), Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), VMWare, Symantec Backup, Cerberus, McAfee, Linux and Linux
      • VanDyke Secure CRT/FX
      • Edge Boundary Controllers
      • Telephony Management Systems used for Call Detail Recording verification and billing
    • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 with a CCNA Security, CySA+ ** (formerly listed as a CompTIA certification CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP certification
    • Familiarity with the Navy’s Shore Installation Process Handbook V4 and NAVNETWARCOM Instruction 12271.1 not required but preferred
    • Familiarity with Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process, Risk Management Framework, and Federal Information Security Management Act not required but preferred
    •  Familiarity with Department of Defense Unified Communication Requirements and Approved Product Listing not required but preferred

    Note: Experience may be concurrent

    • A valid driver’s license is required
    • Active Secret Clearance
    • Must be a US Citizen with a valid US Passport
    • Must be willing to travel (less than 10%) in the Continental United States (CONUS) or Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS);

    Education / Certifications:  BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

    • Software Engineer only: Working towards the following certifications within one and a half year after assuming duties:
      • Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP))
      • Or with customer approval, completion of a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD))
        • Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD)
        • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
        • Sun Certified Professional (SCP)
        • Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
        • CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
        • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
