  • Overview

    The Instructional Designer/e-Content Developer works extensively with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to design, develop and implement traditional classroom and e-Content, including interactive eLearning modules, Quick Reference Cards, Job Aids and short video modules targeted for viewing via mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets. Training content areas include Sales Skills, Management and Leadership Skills, Safety, Compliance, On-Boarding and Employee Development.  The Instructional Designer/e-Content Developer will also conduct classroom training (in person or distance) as well as one-one-one training sessions when necessary.

     

    This is a consultant position and we will consider the selected consultant for possible direct hire employement with Black Box.

    Responsibilities

    • Create eContent projects in collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
    • Transform ideas regarding requests for courses into engaging and effective eContent materials.
    • Design short, captivating video modules.
    • Develop written materials, including but not limited to topical Quick Reference Cards and Job Aids.
    • Publish approved eContent into the Learning Management System.
    • Conduct classroom training sessions (live and/or via distance) when necessary.
    • Remain current on eLearning and mobile learning training trends and ensure development skills are kept up to date.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions by creating and implementing measures to track outcomes and ensure alignment with business objectives. Report and communicate
    • Execute the ADDIE (or other industry accepted) model to analyze, design, develop and deliver learning solutions and curricula.
    • Additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

    • Proficient in the elements and principles involved with developing effective web-based training
    • Able to work independently as well as part of a team environment.
    • Creative thinking—able to look at content and find exciting ways to make it appealing to the audience
    • Able to retrieve information and conduct research related to project completion and job responsibilities.
    • Able to think analytically.
    • Capable of establishing priorities and balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Encompasses project management skills from project start to finish.
    • Performs work under minimal supervision.
    • Handles moderately complex issues and problems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Organized and detail-oriented.
    • Able to build collaborative relationships.
    • Able to read, write and interpret various correspondence, memos and instructions.
    • Understanding of basic mathematical concepts, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
    • Proficient in basic to intermediate computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education and work experience
    • 5-7 years of experience developing eLearning courseware using Articulate 360, Articulate Storyline or similar software
    • Prior background creating learning content for mobile devices, such as smartphones
    • Previous experience facilitating employee classroom sessions on technology topics
    • Learning Management System Administration experience preferred
    • Adobe Creative Suite Experience preferred
